Everything comes from Bali is a pure beauty.
I really believe in that saying, because I always love Bali! The beauty of the infamous island is eternally acknowledged, not only by the locals, but also the world.
I mean, who doesn’t love Bali! And if you think Bali is only about amazing nature and beautiful tradition, think again, because lately, Bali has emerged one more thing for you to adore; Batik Bali.
Batik is one of the proudly acclaimed heritages of Indonesia. Batik has been an inspiration to many best Indonesia fashion labels. It has emerged from traditional fabric to a fashion statement, along with other traditional fabric such as Tenun and Songket. And after a long time Javanese Batik has been the only well-known Batik, Bali is trying to make its own spotlight by introducing Batik Bali to the fashion market.
Until now, Batik Bali is still not as popular as Poleng pattern, even though it has been traditionally produced since the 70s. If you are not familiar with Poleng pattern, it is actually what we have known as Barong fabric; the black-and-white checkered fabric that has been Bali’s signature since you can always see this fabric in all over Bali, from the men’s headwear, to what they use to cover stone temples and trees.

In this post I want to share runway review of another fashion show I attended on the last Indonesia Fashion Week 2016. I was so lucky to attend 5 fashion shows because for the first time ever I got a press pass. I will share the complete story on my experiences as a media reporter there on another post. Also, I will share the reviews of all of those fashion shows I attended.
For the first review, I wrote about the awesome collection from Gee Batik by Sugeng Waskito. In case you miss it, you can read the review HERE. And for the second review, this is the story about the fashion by MAKE OVER, collaborating with 3 young Indonesian designers. Enjoy!
MAKE OVER, Indonesia’s own famous cosmetic brand, has just announced their commitment to continuously support fashion by producing their first ever sponsored fashion show at Indonesia Fashion Week 2016. The facts that make up and fashion are inseparable and always go side-by-side created an idea to collaborate make up and fashion in a story-telling fashion show entitled “Eyevolution”.

I really, really, really love Batik!
And at Indonesia Fashion Week 2016 last week, I was literally in heaven because almost all of the designers showcased their collection there used Batik and other Indonesian traditional fabric!
Maybe it’s partly because of the Javanese blood inside of me, but mainly because Batik is very beautiful and so inspiring! There is endless way to exploit the basic pattern and create it into so many creative outcomes; mix the pattern, mix the color, mix the material, add modern touches, break it into asymmetrical cutting, combine with pop culture, and another million ways. You can basically do anything with Batik.

Good news from Indonesia! Since February 21st, 2016 numerous big cities in Indonesia has forced a regulation to charge the plastic bags usage. It means when you shop something and you want plastic bags to carry them in, you have to pay for the plastic bags. This regulation aims to reduce the usage of plastic bags in Indonesia. As a developed country, not all of Indonesian people are well educated about the threat of plastic bags and actually care about recycling. It’s now time to change!
Plastic bags have been one of the most damaging substantials to our earth; from the high-emission production, how they are not easily degrade, not safe for food containing, cause cancer and other diseases, clog and pollute the river and harm the marine life.
Yet, despite the harms of plastic bags, most of people in Indonesia are still taking plastic bags for granted. They use it for everything, everywhere and everyday. Even when they buy one small pack of cigarettes, from a store near house, they don’t bother to just bring it without plastic bags.
With so many pretty posts I made and my love for flowers and pink, people think I am all girly girl😀
I am not always soft and girly. In fact, most of the time I am sharp, and mean, and much stubborn😛

Are you still in the mood of Valentine? Because I am!
And in this post I want to show you a recently found hobby of mine, which now has been an inspiration for a new collection for jewelry brand, VERONA.
It is called cabochon pendant making. It is not a new DIY technique, but in Indonesia it kinda is. Basically, with this method you can make a pendant with unlimited imagination. You can put any pattern, writings or pictures, using so various materials (such as paper, nail polish, glitter, dry flower, etc.) and preserve them neatly under a protecting glass dome.
It is not easy at first, trust me! There were a lot of chaotic moments just to make one simple pendant. But practice makes perfect, and now I can make fine pendants and I can even sell them.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!
I know for some people, they don’t make Valentine’s Day special because there should be just one day to love someone (or people). Yes I agree with that; we should love everyday, not just on one day. So I make Valentine’s Day special by making it the day of not just loving people, but also showing it to them by giving gifts!
At the end of January, I had a very magnificent week in Bali, the paradise island in my lovely country Indonesia. It was quite a impulsive trip. I already planned to go with this friend of mine from Netherlands, but initially we were supposed to go in February or March. Suddenly, he decided to visit Indonesia sooner so we rushed the plan one month earlier. And I just got the news one week before he came here.
What??? A week to prepare everything??? From my flight, where to stay and itinerary??? I was rapidly overwhelmed! So I decided to call a friend from college who is now working for tourism in Bali for a hotel recommendation. He was the best, all my college buddies will contact him whenever they go to Bali because he knows better than the locals. And he recommended The Adma Umalas. I took a glance of this property at Agoda website and booked it immediately because I have a strong good feelings about this place.
The Adma Umalas is a villa resort (yes, not hotel. It’s nothing like a 10-stories building with alleys full of room doors) in Seminyak area. It has rice field environment and local village houses. This villa is well-known as a honeymoon destinations because it’s located in a quite private area.
My design work for a new online shop who will be selling cosmetics. These will be used as logo, social media content background, and printed as greeting cards and other marketing gimmicks
